Gilvenbank Park is a central greenspace and recreational park within North Glenrothes, Fife. The park is currently home to Glenrothes Cricket Club and Glenrothes Athletic Football Club and is used by the local community for events, etc.

In 2013, Glenrothes Cricket Club and Glenrothes Athletic Football Club formed the Gilvenbank Community Sport Hub.

Both clubs have been successful in growing membership and developing an opportunity for local people to become involved in participating, leading and coaching sport within the area. This equates to over 300 participants taking part in regular sporting activity.

The current facilities include 2 football pitches, 2 cricket areas and temporary changing infrastructure with 2 changing rooms.

The success of both clubs has meant that the current facilities within the area limit their development and participation within sport.

The Gilvenbank Community Sport Hub aim to rectify this situation by developing a purpose built community facility that includes sufficient changing infrastructure to accommodate current use and increase use by other local groups. A flexible activity space that encourages diversity of activities including other physical activities such as yoga, Pilates and fitness classes; a social area that encourages the local community to meet and take part in social events; a learning space that allows the local community to gain formal qualifications relating to sport and physical activity and informal workshops.

The Gilvenbank Community Sport Hub aims to create a family friendly sport and social hub that benefits the whole community.

The estimated cost of the facility is approximately £590,000 excluding VAT.

Through this Crowdfunding exercise we are aiming to raise £30,000 to enable the project to move forward.
